lychee (Litchi chinensis) has a long and rich history in China, where it has been cultivated for over 2,000 years.

Modern Cultivation & Varieties
China grows dozens of lychee varieties, including:
"Guiwei" (桂味) – Small, sweet, and aromatic.
"Nuomici" (糯米糍) – Thick, juicy flesh.
"Feizixiao" (妃子笑) – Named after Yang Guifei.
The annual lychee harvest (May–July) is celebrated with festivals in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan.

Lychee is deeply rooted in Chinese history, literature, and agriculture, evolving from an imperial treasure to a globally loved fruit. Mostly export to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines.
